The Mixed Hockey Tournament

On Tuesday 16th June the Year 5 and 6 students took part in the mixed Hockey Tournament and they came 2nd! 

A big well done to the team and Barry (the coach) for all your hard work. 

The Trip to the Stardome

This year the whole school is working really hard with science and we are part of the Curious Classroom project. As part of this project the students got to visit the Stardome for free! 

The Juniors went and learnt more about Dinosaurs and Senior students learnt all about Matariki as part of their space concept. 

Such a Positive Learner

After our Community Maths Night,  based around measurement, Prisha went home and measured her family and items around the home using a tape measure. Prisha was so pleased with her hard work. 'He tino pai' Prisha.

Community Maths Night

It was great to see so many families working together to support students maths learning at home. 

Families learnt about the 5 strands in maths (number, Algerbra, Geometry, measurement and statistics). They then took part in fun activities around the room around measurement!

Fundraising for Nepal

JOver two weeks ago Nepal was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that triggered an avalanche at Mt Everest. It killed more than 9,000 people and injured  over 19,000. On May 12th a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit the country!

Hay Park School decided to fundraise money by doing a coin trail to help the country during this difficult time. We managed to raise just over $270! 

Well done to all the students and families for donating and to Sandy Rai for organising the event! 

GOOOOO Nikheel Chand

Congratulations Nikheel for being the winner of the Roskill Together – Kids Street Art Competition. His picture was chosen by the Roskill Together Committee for it’s colour and detail, and particularly enjoyed why he loves his street. Nikheel said "it is neat and tidy and his school is next to his house." Hay Park Blue Hawks Netball Team

The Blue Hawks had their first Saturday netball games and they showed off their awesome skills with the ball. 

They won 11-0 and 4-1. Well done to the team and Vicki Archer for her expert coaching! Thank you to all the parents that came and supported.
